For illustrations outside of a floral remit, I regularly call on the talent of a local illustrator – Joanne Nethercott. As someone who generally works solo, I get so much pleasure from the collaborations I do with Jo. She is the ultimate professional, can work to any brief/style and her incredible illustrations add an extra depth to my stationery designs.
We started working together in 2020 when I was asked to create some stationery pieces for John Frieda to send to their influencers alongside their new haircare range. These were really fun projects! The first was a pop up seed paper card – Jo provided the product and character illustrations – I added these to the spring garden of flowers I had created and then painstakingly assembled 40+ cards… tiny piece by tiny piece.
This was followed by another commission to create a gift card and box cover for Bloom and Wild Flowers, again with me creating the flowers and layout and Jo providing the characters (with fabulous blue hair!)
More recently Jo has created some beautiful wedding maps and venue illustrations, which I have then been able to include on service booklets, and on signage as well as within invitation sets. These special illustrations are an extra personal touch which can give your guests a hint at where they will be spending the day whilst also making great framed keepsakes.
